How to Measure
Clear guidance for planning, measuring, fitting, and caring for a made-to-measure window shade.
Prepare before measuring
Use a steel tape measure and record every dimension in inches. Measure each window separately, even when two openings appear alike.
- Choose the product and mount type before recording dimensions.
- Keep the tape level and read each measurement at the opening.
- Label every result with its room and window.
Measure the opening width
For an inside mount, measure the clear opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Record all three results, then follow the selected product page for the width it requests. Do not apply a deduction unless those product instructions tell you to do so.
Measure the opening height
Measure the clear opening at the left, center, and right. Record all three results and confirm the available mounting depth against the selected product page.
Check the recorded dimensions
Pair each width, height, mount type, and product with the correct window. Review the entered configuration before submitting the custom order.
